Gluthanol™.Cartilage nutrition,from inside the cell.

A four-part blend of N-acetylcysteine, L-glycine, L-glutamine and alpha-lipoic acid, built to supply the raw materials cartilage cells make glutathione from.

Most joint nutrition feeds the matrix. Gluthanol™ supplies the cell.

Cartilage is a matrix of collagen and cushioning gel, kept by cells that make up about 2% of it and live without a blood supply Sophia Fox 2009. Those cells defend themselves with glutathione, and how well they survive stress tracks how much of it they have Del Carlo 2003.

Gluthanol™ is built around that defence. It contains no glutathione. It supplies what the cell makes glutathione from, so the cell can make its own.

Four parts, one pathway.

NAC

N-acetylcysteine supplies cysteine

Cysteine supply is one of the two key controls on glutathione synthesis. In cartilage cells, NAC's protection depended on glutathione being made.

Glycine

L-glycine finishes the molecule

The third building block, and the most common amino acid in collagen. Extra glycine raised type II collagen production by cartilage cells.

de Paz-Lugo 2018
Glutamine

L-glutamine supplies glutamate

Cartilage cells turn glutamine into glutamate, and glutathione made from it helps them survive without a blood supply.

ALA

Alpha-lipoic acid helps the cell use cysteine

Reduced inside the cell, it turns cystine into cysteine the cell can take up, raising glutathione mainly where it was low.

Lab and animal

Every ingredient

NAC, glycine, glutamine and alpha-lipoic acid each have cartilage-cell or animal research on glutathione, cell survival or cartilage breakdown.

Human trials

Glycine and NAC

Glycine plus NAC (GlyNAC) raised glutathione in older adults in placebo-controlled and open trials, measured in blood. Those are the trials' results, not Gluthanol's.
